SP Pump Range

Previously supplied under the trade name & still known as the Modern Pump, the Self-Priming Pump Range designated ‘SP’ is of single stage centrifugal design, and has been used primarily for swimming pool water filtration and a great many domestic and commercial pools rely on this range of pumps. The semi-open impeller, materials of construction, self-priming ability and integral strainer also allow the unit to be utilized for any application which requires unaided / unattended operation handling of a wide range fluids.

General description

Wetted parts are normally produced in cast iron with a bronze impeller or all bronze – stainless steel versions have also been produced to special order.

The pump casing has an integral suction chamber to assist in the self-priming function and this in turn is fitted with a coarse mesh strainer (removable for cleaning) which prevents large solid from entering ‘down stream’, reducing possible system damage or blockage.

The semi-open impeller will allow passage of solids capable of passing the strainer, works with the multi-vane diffuser (cast into casing) removing the bearing side loading, normally associated with centrifugal pump.

Drivers are normally single or three phase, electrically powered, with many variations of supply, enclosure & protection options available – air, petrol and diesel drive are also considered.
